Dr. Acela G. Recentes is a dedicated educator with a strong background in mathematics education. She has cultivated a deep understanding of educational practices through her extensive academic achievements, which include a Doctor in Education in Educational Management, a Master of Arts in Education with a major in Mathematics, and a Bachelor in Secondary Education, also majoring in Mathematics.
Her commitment extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by her active involvement in the educational community through her membership in the North Carolina Educators Association (NCEA) and the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCCTM). Furthermore, she is connected to her local community through her participation in a Women’s Organization, reflecting her broader dedication to community engagement.
Dr. Recentes possesses a significant interest in and commitment to teaching students from diverse cultural backgrounds. She deeply values the unique richness and varied perspectives that these students bring to the learning environment, fostering a more inclusive and dynamic educational experience for all.
To maintain a healthy work-life balance, she also enjoys personal activities such as playing golf, bowling, and engaging in strategic thinking through chess and various board games.
Beyond her primary teaching duties, Dr. Recentes has further contributed to her community and educational settings by serving as a community treasurer, testing coordinator, math coordinator, and research coordinator. These experiences highlight her versatility and her consistent willingness to support and contribute to the well-being and advancement of others.

Mario Gijal Recentes A fulfilled Army veteran for 28 years, Mario has painstakingly polished his skills to develop long-term strategies and estimates, and manage potential risks to come up with critical investment decisions. His learning exposures in Asia, Africa and Europe throughout his military life had gradually fashioned his exceptional fondness for global security, cultural diversity and quality education for all.
As a Command and General Staff Course (CGSC) graduate, Mario was capable to command Army units. Moreover, he is a graduate of Master in Public Management (MPM) major in security and development; Master in Development Management (MDM); and Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications (ABMC). He has also trained in Early Childhood Development (ECD) which qualified him to teach children in US schools.
A devout family man, an able security professional, a prolific team player and worker, a dedicated school teacher and a passionate golfer.
